Iceland: Where to find Yoda's cave from the "Star Wars" movie

There are several tourist highlights on the south coast of Iceland , and many travelers are amazed.
Fans of the "Star Wars" film series should not only see the mighty Skogafoss waterfall and stroll on the black sand of Reynisfjara Beach, but also make a stop at Hjörleifshöfði Cave. The cave is a very special place.
The cave with the unpronounceable name so typical of Iceland is also called Yoda Cave. From certain angles, the cave entrance actually looks like the little green Jedi master. It's part of the Hjörleifshöfði mountain, and even parts of the movie "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story" were filmed here.
Incidentally, the shape of the entrance was not altered by human intervention; it developed naturally – although some "Star Wars" fans might suggest other theories at this point. The information portal "Guide to Iceland" describes the cave as still relatively uncrowded, which is unusual for Iceland's south coast.
You can drive to the cave, but you should check the conditions beforehand, as a four-wheel drive vehicle is recommended. However, if it hasn't been raining for days, the bumpy road should be passable for other vehicles as well – at least in summer. The parking lot is very close to the cave entrance. Yoda is particularly well-received when you look out from inside the cave.

If you want to combine a visit to Yoda Cave with other attractions, you can visit Reynisfjara, the town of Vík i Myrdal, about 15 kilometers away, the Katla Ice Cave, or the Dyrhólaey Peninsula. However, you can only access the ice cave as part of a guided tour.
If you don't want to pay for this, simply continue along the Ring Road to the Jökulsárlón glacier lagoon and watch as the large and small pieces of glacial ice slowly make their way into the sea. On the other side of the road, you'll find the famous Diamond Beach, where chunks of ice are constantly washing up.
